Pierre Bucsit identified the victim as Bernd Diefenbacher, 59, a German tourist with a temporary residential address at No. 75 Makiling Street, Plaridel Subdivision, Barangay Malabanias.The victim's friend and compatriot identified as Siegfried Wittman, 61, who stays in a hotel also in Barangay Malabanias sought the assistance of police after repeatedly failing to get in touch with the victim.PO3 Romeo Amarillo and PO3 Joven Rodriguez assisted Wittman to the residence of the victim and were shocked to find the victim half-naked lying face down on the floor.Bucsit said that a bolo and a blood-stained knife were found near the victim's body.Police theorized that the victim was stabbed dead when he tried to fight off his attackers who had earlier tried to rob him.The victim suffered hack wounds on the head and different parts of his body. Why are the dead foreigners in Angeles always found half-naked? There isn't a whole lot of reason to live in Angeles other than the bikini bars. Maybe he was here on a legitimate vacation and not a sex tourist, but I doubt it. I'm not saying he deserved to be murdered, but prostitution is illegal here. The Philippines is just like any other country. If you engage in illegal activity and consort with criminals, you're far more likely to end badly.
