Hey Guys

Finally I am getting to see my Beautiful Asawa after almost 3 years. Its a long story but here it goes. My last visit to Philippines was Xmas 2011 and just a few short months after returning to Canada I had a work site accident! It did not seam like a big deal at the time but i had fallen while walking backwards into a 2ft hole about 1.5ft deep, I broke my fall by extending my left arm backwards ( now i know big mistake ). Not seriously hurt because not bleeding and could still move my arm just was a little painful to do so, Reported the injury to my supervisor and continued to work for a week complaining how much it hurt. Finally i went to a clinic to see a doctor and get some T3's for pain. The next morning i awoke in extreme pain and had a friend take me to the hospital where xrays and ultrasounds where done and i was given morphine for the pain. The meds did there job and masked the pain and i was told i could go back to work on light duties, well being a concrete finisher there really are no light duties. Things continued to get worse and my Dr. gave me Oxycotin and that helped but because my work i got my self into a cycle where when it hurt  took more Oxy. Finally after complaining enough i got sent to a ortopedic surgeon who finally said i could not work and needed to try full time physiotherapy program. Now 8 months later and just before xmas 2012 I ask the workers compensation board if i can have a vacation to see my wife in the philippines and there response was sure if you want but you will loose all compensation benifits and and medical care for the injury. Needless to say I need my shoulder to function to make my living so I dont get a vacation to see my beautiful asawa.

Now all most 8 months after my accident I finally get a MRI. Now this changes everything and i am booked surgery within weeks as it turns out they discover a tear in the tendon. 2 weeks later I am waking up after the surgery and the surgeon says to me what a mess I had in my shoulder, his 45 min surgery ended up being a 4.5 hour surgery and he had to repair many tares in my rotator cuff, and had to reattach my bicep on my upper arm to avoid the strain on the tendon that was repaired. After all this i still wanted to go visit my asawa but kept getting the we will end your care and benifits if you do.  So whats a guy to do but listen thinking it will only take a few months. Well here I am 2.5 years later and still not recovered from the surgery but i am being retrained to become management and not have to do the physical work any more. Just last week I asked again and was told as long as i do my School work all is good, so not waiting for them to change there minds I booked my tickets for mid October to first week of November.  Now My question to everyone is What will the Weather be like around that time? oh and she is located in Antipolo.

I am Excited to return to what feels like the place I belong. I just wish I could take more than a few weeks from school so I can rebuild the family home in Samar. But i got allot of catching up to do with my Asawa and Daughters.

High typhoon season, unfortunately.

Thanks MikeB that's what I thought but best to have it confirmed.

Nothing will stop me as it's been far too long since I have had intimate encounters with my asawa. I know everyone will understand that and I'm there to spend time with her and the daughters not to go island hopping or sightseeing.

Hey Hewy09,

Yeah, I hear ya......we call that channel fever in the navy.  Only a few days before returning from a 6-9 months

deployment -- you can't eat or sleep and all the Playboy magazines are worn out.....he, he.

Your arrival is in the middle of back to back typhoons.  I just hope your flight is not delayed or cancelled. Also

Antipolo has been known for severe flooding, so bring some emergency items.  Especially candles -- it' so

romantic while the rain and the wind is howling outside.  Due to the nature of your injury, perhaps you could

discuss another position.....he, he.

Bad boy ako -- Jake

Late October you may have a storm or not. Some rain is likely but its low season and with the clouds will be cooler. Most of our visits are late October - November.

At least you should be getting a break on flight costs... I booked a flight yesterday - Air Canada / Cathay Pacific (Toronto to Cebu) for only $726CDN... A lot better than it was a couple months ago!

That is a great price. Mine was $960 from Vancouver to Manila direct. Which is a good deal. Usually I fly china air or Korean air with one or two stops for the same price so I was very happy to only have a 13 hour trip vs the 24-30 hour trip.

Can you say 'Yolanda'!.... hmmm....I was over in Leyte a few weeks ago, and there are still tons of people living in the open. Hope the typhoon season is going to be a mild one this year.

Sorry to hear that. I was running command and control out of Cebu City during it. Terrible time for the locals.
