I found some on line but don't know anyone who as knowledge of the type of places they are ..... also we were looking at places on Agoda .... prices seem good but I have had no experience using them ..... if you need to cancel or change your dates the price seems a little high ...... confirming a hotel date and making plane reservation can be kind of iffy ..... and I hate it when adds keep popping up saying ..... "there is only 2 left at this price" and 2 seconds later "there is only 1 left at this price" ..... I don't high pressure even a little bit ..... :mocking: ...... are there any hidden costs with Agoda .... or would it be better just to fly there and find a place ..... we will be going about mid Nov. for 3-6 days depending on our schedule ..... This is primarily a scouting mission to see if I like the area south of Bacolod and for me to get my driver's license with my brother-in-laws help .... he works for the traffic enforcing division and I just want him to help me so I don't have to stand in all those long lines ..... not get one for me .... I used Agoda last month to book at the holiday spa hotel, I had no problems at all. There were no hidden charges and the reception at the hotel just wanted to see the confirmation from Agoda that was it, I was never asked another thing! I assume you have to pay with a US credit card or other form of CC (in US $) ..... guess I should just sign up to their website and see what it's all about ..... but at least I feel better that others have had good dealings with them ..... AH! AH! So that's why I get a raw deal. I only have a UK C/C, seriously though, :unsure: with AGODA the website, allows you to view prices in major currencies. they have never let me down and I can say safely, their cancellation policy is is pretty good mike, It is a good choice of booking company and they do answer any mail sent to to them.. MikeB Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I stayed 4 nights at the O Hotel about a year ago which is one of the nicest and near almost everything. Agoda has rooms for a little over p1100 in Aug if that's not too much. I booked through the hotel and paid more. I think it included breakfast, but not sure. They call it the "city of smiles" and it's where Chicken Inasal got it's start. Manokan Country is a row of eateries outside SM that serve it and other things, you should check it out. The airport is quite a distance north of the city, I took the shuttle with several people and was the last dropped off. I'll give it a try ...... :thumbsup: MikeB will give that a shot ..... oh by the way I think we will be riding the bus instead of flying ... yea I know it is 8+ hours but it is a good way to see the countryside and also we are planning on buying some kind of van or multi-cab in the very near future so it will let me see the route to take plus expense traveling by ro-ro ....... may have to make a few trips back and forth to find a place to live .....
