"naughty" Things On My Computer, Be Gone!

I remember reading a while back on one of those "other forums" that if you are coming to the Philippines with laptop in tow, MAKE SURE you NOT show up with any "naughty" things on your computer; Including pictures, videos and of the like. So................................................................   OK I am sure I AM THE ONLY ONE that has a couple   maybe a few naughty things on my computer. I know, I know, I know, I should be shame and I wish I could be more pure like you but that is my truth. So questions is, well first was that other guy that runs that other blog right? Should I or any other shameful chaps, play the new and exciting games, "delete the video" or "delete the girly pictures" or is this simply not true and I can delete this post, and you can forget I ever mentioned anything about "naughty" things on my laptop. :541:

I believe the problem is more so when you return home. Because you have visited a third world country someone may decide to check what you have been up to. If what ever you have is legal then it should not be a problem. If your only going to visit there is no reason why you can not removed videos etc and but them on an external drive and leave them home. And if you intend to take naughty pics while in the Philippines be sure they are legal.

PROFILING is what its called. If you only stayed 1week,2weeks and that would RAISE A FLAG,

if your single male, your dress is casual, have a previous"conviction/or arrest",

numerous photos of young children thats not family.. that too would RAISE ISSUES.

IF your a medical professional, NGO worker, religious /missionary,  have family,(roots) born here,(FIL-am/brit/aussie etc)

ex-service man who was stationed here, traveling w/an female companion,

own property. Married, single w/children

that would reduce you being on their "RADAR"

2.its best NOT to access those "sites" or view such that could be considered "obscene"

but them on an external drive

FOR those who are not that computer  1%20%28103%29.gif "savvy" or brilliant,1%20%28103%29.gif

could someone explain what the "external drive" or USB stick does or how it works?

in the situation that JGF described

Easiest way to explain would be a separate place to store what ever "things" you want. They are the evolution of the old "Floppy Disk". You can put many of these devices in your pocket.

Well, fine then. What I am speaking of is in no way illegal or ANYTHING LIKE THAT. But I do have a ton of pictures sent from girls over the year that I have been chatting online to the Philippines. No child porn or anything like that and I am not coming there for anything but to spend 27 days with this lovely girlfriend of mine. So, no problem for me to put on hard drive or external usb stick. I was just wondering is it even possible they stop all to check out their computer? That seemed insane but I can see how they could single someone out. Ok. Thanks for info.

Never seen it happen, but that's not to say it doesn't.  Interpol and other country's national law enforcement agencies keep databases of known sex offenders and this includes known purveyors of pornographic material - regardless of what it is.  Aside from the obvious pedophilia question, in many countries there's a blanket ban on porn of any type with extremely hefty fines and custodial sentences. Apart from the morality issue there's the issue of exploitation and in some cases, slavery they're trying to stamp out.

The Philippines is, at it's core, a Roman Catholic country with government legislating accordingly.   Want to do time in any country as a sex offender?  Meet your new husbands, their names are "Bubba", they don't like lube.

"Marital aids" are fine.  Pictures or videos of "lewd" acts are illegal in PH.

All sounds a bit harsh I know mate, but that's the reality of international travel; why risk it?

From What I have gathered over the years the transport of pornographic images or videos into any country is illegal unless they are of your wife girlfriend etc and even then in places like Saudi-arabia no matter how good looking your wife is, it is considered immoral and illegal, however if the customs officers (non-Muslim countries) consider it to be "Normal porn" i.e. girl over 18, no animals involved etc etc they usually say nothing however if there are videos, do you have copyright privileges to have copied it on to your hard drive?? again unless they have something else on you and we are not talking ridiculous amounts of porn they will usually use their discretion.

All that said, download an encrypted Data safe put that on your computer and they will not usually find anything

If they are suspicious then they stick a USB device into a USB port on your laptop and it searches for anything on your computer that fits their profile.  They could find things that you have forgotten ever existed.  But first they have to be suspicious.  Personally, I try not to have anything even eyebrow raising on my laptop if going through North American customs and immigration.

The US Supreme Court has ruled that you have no Constitutional rights when crossing an international border. That means you can be pulled aside for questioning and have your electronics searched without a warrant.

Naughty pictures of women (or men) who may look young but over 18 can still be considered child pornography if those images or videos are not linked to documents in the porn industry showing the person is over 18. In other words it is up to you to prove the person is of age. Even an innocent picture of a young child naked in a bathtub has been considered child pornography.

I would not risk taking anything with me or returning with anything which might be questionable. Not even on an external USB stick.

Why take a chance when you can leave it at home or put it on a secure encrypted file storage service on the internet.

Coming this way, your biggest problem will be when this lovely girlfriend of yours see that ton of pictures of the other girls in your life.

In returning, recently, there was a guy who had his laptop taken from him at Toronto Airport after spending 100 days in AC.
