School discipline, Parental control, everything is questioned in today's World Yes some children where physically abused or punished unfairly, but on the whole we most probably deserved reprimanding. Teacher's today fear reprisal's from student's in more way's than one! (recent event's in US for example) That's why the article you posted comes as no surprise, these days people sue for the slightest thing, it has become a culture. I was expelled from Colchester Royal Grammar School for climbing to the top of the cupola that you may see here, hanging my girlfriend's bra (Marks and Spencer, 36 C) from the weathercock and then telephoning the Essex Couty Standard newspaper.
