What A Shame That Things Can Go Wrong On A Forum.

I have put this here because i am not going to dwell on  DNA issues or Trollism, but what a great shame,

That a Question asked turned out the way it did. And I feel new members need to read and get used to things as we all did in the beginning. We are all here to help each other as it seems at times there is not a lot of help elsewhere.

As Expats we are all in the same boat mainly and at times we all need help and advice but There are ways of asking and ways of Putting things We all know that at times, tempers can get frayed but we should all remember that this is an Open Forum and with so many different nationalities involved Things can come out Differently, Takes a lot to get me riled up that I have to retort to deep sarcasm and Rudeness. Hope that we can all learn lessons from what happens every now and then.

I for one am guilty of sarcasm but I hope it is taken lightly and get a fair share of knuckle rapping for the things I say or how i say them.

I think what I am trying to say is yet again, lets think before we send.

Now I am not a Moderator but like the rest, a member with some Passion for this site and I don't think JGF needs the sort of things that happen every now and then.

JGF gave us a reminder of Short titled Topics, now can I say, If we are going to ask help and Advice on delicate issues, lets tell the whole story and not just leave it to others imaginations on what is actually being asked, to me this is where it all went wrong Yesterday.

 

Sorry for Toe Treading but I just felt the need to say Something :)

Forums, are only as good as it's members and things contained in them, Please don't lets ruin this one.

Cheers Steve you are right "Adult" being the Operative word, I mean we don't have to take any or all the Advice and Help given but as we asked, right and proper we should knowledge this with just a Thank You, not a barrage of C....p just because it is not what you want to hear

Forums, are only as good as it's members and things contained in them, Please don't lets ruin this one.

 

Forums are no different to any other social situation.  Whether it is a party in a friend-of-a-friends house, a bar or a random party you have wandered into, you enter in as a new person and you need to understand vibe and what is happening within the group.  People who walk in a try to be all Alpha Male (or whatever) are never the sort of people you want at your party.

 

I thought that members contributed to that particular persons question.  But when he replied saying it was a story and taken with a grain of salt, that really got me confused and angry.  He asked for advice and contribution and someone (with plenty of activity on site) gave some insight.

 

Anyway.... everyone should keep on contributing.  Giving the benefit of the doubt is always prudent.  But, being too trusting can make us all look foolish.
