Why wouldn't it work (aslong as the fittings are same)?

Hoses are pretty much hoses. Someone probably has a barb connecter on one end with a hose clamp and threads to match the local tank regulator in the other. Or possibly you could get the whole hose.

My understanding is the gases are slightly different. One is more Propane and the other is more Butane. I forgot which is which.

Read that there was a difference in the LPG and that USA grill burners would not work.  Didn't sound right so wanted to see if anyone had used a USA grill in the PI?

Will work, BUT, the pressure is 30% + - greater for LP. Both operate at less than 1 PSIG. The difference to you is in the flame control. From the factory each appliance has a removable pin hole nozzle with the hole size set for the intended gas pressure.

On a natural gas appliance using LP, the flame is bigger. The reverse is true for LPG appliance using NG and a lower flame. If ordering as new, state the intended gas to the person buying for you and get the right set up. If not, then you need to watch the flame and adjust accordingly to make sure you do not burn the food which is more likely using a NG appliance with LPG.

AFAICR from my days with an oil company in Hong Kong they varied the ratio of propane and butane between winter and summer. In winter the percentage of propane would be increased to compensate for lower ambient temperatures. As a corollary in the Philippines the percentage of butane would be increased. Since butane has the higher calorific value you might find the flame burns slightly hotter. Otherwise I would not expect any problems unless you try to use pure butane on an appliance set up to use pure propane (and even that should be fixable). However AFAIK most countries (including the USA) actually use a mix of the two gasses -- unless there is a specialised requirement such as high altitude/low temperature use.

I agree with other posters above that there are always people in the Philippines that can adapt equipment. Your local Philippine bottled-gas supplier should be able to provide a suitable regulator valve for the specific mixture used.

It makes life a lot easier if the equipment has an adjustable orifice with a needle and seat.

So a USA made propane gas grill will likely have smaller or larger flames using PI propane?

Are the fittings on a USA grill to attach to the PI propane tanks the same?  Will I need to find a PI regulator and hose to attach and use PI tanks?
