hk blues Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Another point is the options are hardly many - for a bedroom it's likely to be a toss-up between .75 and 1.0 HP. I really doubt it makes any significant difference. And if you choose an invertor (more expensive but likely to be cheaper to run) you start at 1.0hp anyway. My main point was an underpowered unit will be a waste of money as it won't do the job.
intrepid Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 (edited) Here's my 2pesos for what its worth. IF you can get to attic make sure there is some kind of insulation, at the least the bubble foil. Next try to use heavy curtains where you have direct sun in the windows. For the aircon, purchase price and running price is not much different so I would go for the 1 hp. Another thought on the sun side of that room or your house for that matter. The best insulation for that wall would be shrub/bush or vine on a trellis. Of course on that likes the sun and will give you nice scenery and much need shade/insulation from the sun.
