Washing down old paint

Is there such a thing as sugar soap here in the Philippines, the stuff you use to wash down old paint to get the grim and dirt off, if not is there something else you could recommend.

Not seen any. You could try washing powder.

Or sea salt, or toothpaste. Also hot water and vinegar

Go to a hardware store and ask for "Trisodium Phosphate".

Thanks Mike, just reading about this and it seems just what I may need, the washing powder tide in water is ok but it just takes of the top layer of dust , I will look for this thank you.

Sounds more like a baking recipe......:hystery: ( granules I know )

I once had the job of washing down a kitchen before painting it ,  the only thing available was dishwashing machine powder.

It did the job and even degreased the cooking area!  Don't forget the marigolds though Steve. :tiphat:
