Duterte wants new task force on COVID-19 variant | Philstar.com

Me thinks he is in for a rude awakening as to how little the Philippines matters to strategic importance on the modern battlefield.

Even the most bleeding heart liberal in the states, does not respond well to threats :hystery:

‘No vaccine, no VFA’

Meanwhile, the President challenged the US government to facilitate the Philippines’ acquisition of vaccines from Pfizer.

Duterte demanded at least 20 million doses of coronavirus vaccines from the US to stop the termination of the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA).

“If they don’t deliver, then they better get out,” he said during the same meeting.

Duterte ordered the abrogation of the long-standing defense agreement between the Philippines and the US last February.

“No vaccine, no stay here,” he said.

Duterte later extended the suspension of the termination of the VFA until the end of the year.

The US dosent owe Philippines anything. As a US taxpayer I'm OK with all aid including military assistance stopped. It could be used at home or for actual friendly nations. We can add extortionist to his activities now.

Didn't Duterte get a special dose of the Russian vaccine awhile ago? Could explain some of his erratic behavior.

I've mentioned it before.  Duterte is on drugs.

Spoiler

Seems the pic is not so clear here.  I mentioned it a few years back and the pic in that thread is clearer.  You can check it out in the following link if you want to scroll through the thread to find it.  Bottom line is that the reporter claims Duterte is taking Fentanyl

Shouldn't this topic have been posted in Philippines newsdesk?

Apart from the reference to a proposed new variant task force there is no debate about coronavirus

Just indignation towards another duterte tantrum

Sure John if it's done respectfully. Filipino politics affects Expats and foreigner visitors directly.
