After all the money I have spent thus far in getting back to a normal existence, after being a wanderer for the last 2 years, where the only thing I haven’t done is couch surfing I would hate to get turned back for the sake of a couple of hundred dollars, makes no sense at all to me.

So with that in mind I now have 2 tickets to show them, one from Clark to Singapore and one from Singas back to down under, no problems.

Good for you mate it cost you a bit but better to be safe than sorry.

4 of those denied entry were because they had onward tickets to Hong Kong.....there are no flights from Manila to HK so.... denied.

Bit odd, my onwards ticket is with PAL, Manila to Hong Kong in March.  Admittedly I entered on 16 January and there's been a lot of water under the bridge since then.

Yes... I have decided to do the same thing and extend my exit ticket from "Manila to Singapore" and add "Singapore to Aussie" as well just to be sure.

Which is not turning out to be as simple as expected despite me purchasing a flexible ticket... I booked via booking.com and it seems I have to do changes through them (unless I book a separate ticket Singapore to Australia which I might end up doing).

I tried all the tricks and I think I'll come up with a return ticket back to Australia booked out as far as I can for the return trip, and the ticket can be extended up to twelve months from date of first flight. I think It costs about an extra $150 to rebook. :56da64b51da2f_36_1_681:

Not saying this is policy Geoff how ever worth a mention. Good friend flew into Manila yesterday from the US, via Guam. Just messaged me, nothing checked in Manila at all, no mention of return ticket or insurance. Just a welcome smile at immigration

As another poster mentioned, the airline at LA very careful in checking everything. Seems there acting as the BI police check point.

It's sort of always been the case as the airline has to foot the bill for the return of something is not in order.  I've never been asked for an onwards ticket by an immigration official but have been a couple of times by airlines at check-in.  This includes my most recent entry in January.

What was interesting, we were chatting last night after I picked him up from Air port and stated it was compulsory to have a return ticket to point of origin.  This was demanded by United Airlines. He is unsure this is just visa on arrival or across the board. Totally crazy as any ticket outside the RP should suffice.

Wonder if the is just United or being enforced by all airlines, expensive although he said can cancel it and have a flight credit.
