Last night I prepared a big pot of chili, turned out very good. Wife's relative came to the house just as we were reheating it. I laid out bowls, aged Parmesan with grater, shredded cheddar, even beef hot dogs, buns, mustard with horse radish, sour kraut and other condiments so they could eat the chili any way they wished.

So they piled a bunch of rice on the plate and put about a tablespoon of chili on top. The said it was excellent and wanted to know if they could take some home. I said, sure I can spare a few tablespoons

Which means they took home all your chili.

No not at all they took home a small amount., even though I offered more. The amusing thing to me was even with all the condiments offered and the ability to make a hot dog  or a bowl of chili they chose to go with a plate of cold rice and put a small bit of chili on the rice with no additions even though they were freely offered.

Parmesan is hard and you must have a grater to shave it off properly
