I learned the basics of patience, persistence, and elemental fluidity, but was never better than a mediocre driver in the Phils. And never a relaxed one. But when I'd hire a driver to drive me in my own car from Subic to the US Embassy in Manila, he was always totally at ease. He completely understood (and grew up with) the more subtle rules that I'll never master.
