Georgebob Posted June 1 Posted June 1 (edited) Last year I spent 3 days in Cebu City It wasn't enough ,I would like to explore more I stayed near the Ayala mall I went to the casino , SeaWorld etc But I would like to know your lifestyle if you live there ? What is the IT park like ? Is it just condos? I dont think I explored Mactan island Yes there's plenty of YouTube videos but I would like to know you guys opinions on Cebu , did you like it if visited , do you enjoy it if you live there ? Where do you live in Cebu? Is there quiet areas near the beach to live away from that beeping of the city I wonder why they have to beep beep beep their horns all the time when in Thailand they can get through the day without doing it? Philippines is substantially overpopulated in almost all areas and finding quiet beach areas....thats unicorn territory. Get up to Bantayan where it can be quiet and peaceful or to the far side of Camotes islands. But in and around Cebu city area....its beep bloody beep beep beep.....

It seems you are looking for folks in this forum to sway you away from settling here. Why not come here and see for yourself?
hk blues Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I visited Cebu when I was living in Hong Kong. Honestly speaking, I was very disappointed as it's often portrayed as the jewel in the crown of the Philippines's tourist destinations but even an average Thai or Malaysian beach resort was better IMO - as was Boracay. Of course, as a place to live it might me a different matter, it is the 2nd city of the country so must have something going for it that I missed on my short trip.

You'd know if you've been - it is the beach resort area of the city.

Snowy79 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I've just had a friend couch surfing at my place for a few days, he spent one month in Mactan and regularly send me videos late at night and you could hear loud music from outside even with his windows closed, he was in a high apartment which allegedly goes for over 30m pesos. He would go to his window and it looked like an open air nightclub a good 500m away. He was not impressed with the area.
