For those who need a solution to Connecting their Carrier Aura to Wi-FI.

I purchase the popular energy saving Carrier Aura Split AC.  I didn't realize a Smart Kit was needed to control it to The Carrier Wi-Fi App which offers more features such as scheduling. I contacted Carrier Philippines & asked them how to buy the Carrier WI-FI USB Kit in the photo. Their response, sir, there is no kit for that model. So I responded again with the photo. Response, sir, we don't sell those because there is no app yet to support that.  So I responded with the link to download the carrier smart kit app. Response, sir, that app won't work in The Philippines. LOL, I gave up after that response.

I read about how The Media Smart kit and app will work with the Carrier Aura so i ordered it on Shopee from Vietnam, I installed the Midea app from Google Play and it operates perfectly and offers more features such as scheduling  24/7 on/off that the remote don't allow.

I have my own smart kit solution - I send my kid ahead to turn on the A/C before I get home! :2245_safe:

The no extra parts/fees to be able to control an LG 1.5 dual inverter split aircon using your smart phone.  Not sure about other LG models.  I also have an app on my phone that controls the robotic vacuum cleaner, and one that monitors our solar system.  Who you calling a luddite?  :hystery:

I have a similar problem, can you show a picture of where the usb slot for the smart kit would be? I have Carrier Aura split type and would like to add the smart kit if possible.

if I open lid, i can only see a panel with a screw?

can you advice?

Remove the screw. Slide the plastic panel to the left and it will drop. you will see the USB port similar to this video. Install your Midea USB into the Carrier USB port. Turn Off  the AC. Install The Midea App from Google play, register. Turn on the AC, set it to AP mode. Follow the instructions on the Midea app. With the controller, for me in the gear mode at 50% energy use, the minimum fan set is 20% but with the Media app, I can set it to 1% DC fan using the 1 peso cost per hour to operate it that Carrier advertises.

It can alert the husband if he is away and someone is using the bedroom AC while ones wife is supposed to be visiting parents. LOL. For The Carrier Aura, It's the only split AC unit in The Philippines that claims to operate on 1 peso per hour use because of it's DC operation. So far, i have experienced that to be true compared to my previous costly split AC Panasonic Inverter. The WI-FI app offers many more features than the hand control. I can control the DC ops to 50% energy use, 1% DC fan energy use where the hand control offers only 20% in the GEAR Mode. The wi-fi app also allows me to more scheduling settings. Another convenience is i can turn on the AC on my way home and arrive to a cool room instead of using turbo after I arrive. The wife loves it. No need to always search for the controller. She uses the Wi-Fi app. Try the WI-FI and one will realize what they have been missing.

You make a valid point.  It is the 'just about' part of your statement that is part of the answer.  There are additional features in most apps as others have posted and, for me anyway, the app is easier to use than the remote.  My remote is fine for on/off and lower/raise the temp.  Beyond that I need to dig out the manual and puzzle out what all those other buttons do.  Same is true with our robotic vacuum cleaner.
