MikeB Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Exactly what the airlines have done; little by little, year by year adding charges for everything. All the optional add-ons (under the guise of saving you money) will eventually increase the total cost, especially for the target sector - business travelers. After all, it's not their money.
sjp52 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 The banks are the worst. Nickel and dime you for every thing you do. Most big businesses have employeesthat their only job is to find ways to make more profits on the same items or services they sell
almost there1 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I worked for a weekly hotel company which made millions on this concept. Its slogan was pay only for what your need. For instance, supposed you were coming to Phoenix relocating with a job. Chances are you may need a place for a week or a month until you find the location you want to live at. SO if you are driving into Phoenix and put your sheets, towels, etc in the trunk. Basic rate without linen and dishes was $169 per week. Want linen add 20 per week, dishes add another 10, etc For total package with linens and dishes and microwave and maid service it was like 239 per week. Vast majority took the lowest rate and that is what we to keep our expenses down.
