OnMyWay Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Redhorse's post today reminded me of this topic I had meant to ask about. I want to choose a mail service soon and establish a new US address. Some factors that seem important are:1. "No state income tax" state. I have a house in Florida, so Florida seems logical.2. Ability to scan mail and allow viewing envelopes / mail online.3. Cost, both monthly, and the rate to forward to Phils4. Longevity and financial status of the company. It would be a pain to have to switch because they go out of business.5. Ability to also forward online purchases, when needed. I'm not expecting any bargains on this and would not expect to use it, but it is good to have it available.I found these mentioned on the forum and thought I could get a few new comments on them before I make my choice. Your experiences?http://www.earthclassmail.com/www.usabox.comhttp://www.usglobalmail.com/I found a few others online:http://www.sbimailservice.com/http://beinus.com/

Best of luck to you sir -- Jake I would be clueless on how to even get started without the help of everyone here, and all of the information will help me make sure all bases are covered! Thanks for the link! I did a search but I didn't catch that one, but now I realize I had read that one months ago, and that is why I had been leaning towards USABOX. MikeB Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Deja vu Jake, that link was from a year ago when I was planning my move and asking the same questions. I decided to go with Earth Class because of their service, they are very responsive to email and phone queries. Like Mike S said, far better to set it up and test before you leave. They all require a notarized Postal Consent form to be mailed to them so they are authorized to receive and process your mail. Once they have it on file they should allow for changes w/o the notarization.

Higg-num Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 May I ask if a peson has friends who are willing every few days to do this and once a month or so ship over any mail....would that not be as good ? I'm gonna pay them the same or would you just set up the service ?
OnMyWay Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 May I ask if a peson has friends who are willing every few days to do this and once a month or so ship over any mail....would that not be as good ? I'm gonna pay them the same or would you just set up the service ? I considered this and surely some do it, but I am sure that friends / relatives would get tired of this over the long term, as it is a bit of work for them to do, and I don't want to burden them with it. For $10 a month USABOX scans all your mail so you can see it. Since I will try to do just about everything online (banking, bill paying, etc), I think it will be rare that I will need to have anything actually sent over. A few times a year?
Higg-num Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Thats what I believe as well. Thanks. BTW.....how far in advance would you set this mail service up ? I am at a point of so many things are waiting until I here from these other person /offices/ things that I cannot give any dates as of yet. Guess I can go to their web site & see if I may set everything up BUT the date of the service to begin. I am having a logistics problem with my trip. : )
