Popular Post Jack Peterson Posted May 27, 2012 Author Popular Post Posted May 27, 2012 I know when I had my brush with death a long time ago (vietnam), it led to the best years of my life. To finally be healed, and feeling ok after seriously doubting if you ever would again, brought such appreciation for life. It led to a giddy, lust for life that those who have never glimpsed their own mortality, perhaps never feel. For years after that the days were never long enough to cram all the living into them I wanted to do. I hope that feeling is the silver lining in your recent health scare. I hope your life here with your family leads to decades of health and happiness so that some day doctors tell you what a couple have told me. That is "whatever you are doing just keep doing it" . Meaning I think, that you are doing alot better than anyone had a right to expect you would considering all you have been through. I admire your openness i wish all were so forthcoming. These people that go around constantly afraid to reveal too much about themselves to me are sad cases. It much be a bitch living a life in fear that people will someday see the real you. Thank you Jode, revealing things can some times be a good medicine. a problem shared is a problem halved. I feel I don't have to tell you that. as I said earlier, this has been the biggest wake up call I have ever had and it has made me realise, that my Signature, just about says it all. Things will be tough for a while but I have a fantastic Lady behind me that is busy making things ready. for my Homecoming. maybe when I am home, I can just Concentrate on Life and forget or at least not worry so much about this. As you & Jake so rightly put it, I have been through a lot but this one, was personal and at the time, I did not know the Enemy. Now it is identified and with all the help and good wishes I am getting, I hope it will keep a very low profile as my friends here tell me " Just keep taking the tablets"To you Jode and all that have contributed to my Ramblings a BIG Thank you. lets hope that my next few topics, will be about Life at Home and not about health and any more near misses. Regards and good wishes to you all. Jack P. :tiphat:
Julia Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) good on you mate for your courage to show your photo .. great looking horse there too. Goodness gracious, I thought Jack was the horse. I'm sure his wife mumbled something about Jack being a stallion or something like that. Jack Peterson Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013  So here we are, results are good from the hospital, alive and stable, the usual talk from the Doctors, Quit smoking, keep up with the medication, Sod the giving up my SMB's, try and keep occupied, exercise well and be as stress free as you can. Easier said than done of course, then I have these days like to-day when my keyboard will not obey me ( or is it my fingers that will not obey my brain) :hystery: After the feaux par on a post I replied to earlier, I am not sure this is my brain at all. As it is the only one in my head at this time i will just have to use it and hope you all keep me on the straight and narrow. It is going to I feel, be some time before I get back to some sort of proficiency with regard to my PC 6 months without, is a long time Anyway, as the topic is named, "This is me" Just bear with me and i will get there in the end. The last year or so, seemed very eventful on the forum and I have missed out on it. I hope I can catch up quite quickly without to many problems and without upsetting many of my fellow members jack P. :tiphat:
i am bob Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) Welcome back, Jack! I've been off for a week and I had over 100 posts I had not read. And I'm not even going to look at the"Welcome to the forum" posts... So for 6 months worth? Just take your time and read the ones that look interesting... And don't worry about upsetting anybody... All that means is that you get to pay for the first round! i am bob Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Nothing written on anything firmer than flour. I have been having some health problems and my dad isn't doing too well lately between his heart problems and having terminal lung cancer. My Special Someone has been great and very understanding about this. Still I want to be there as soon as I can!
