Popular Post earthdome Posted December 3, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2012 As I get closer to making my first extended stay in the Philippines I have been considering what are those things I need or want to do before I leave. I now only have 4 days before I leave. I have most of the issues covered such as mail, phone, paying bills, pasalubong, etc. So now I am down to what will I miss? So last week I ordered a large pizza from my favorite pizza parlor and gorged on it. Last night I went out to Lone Star Steakhouse and had a very good filet mignon. I am a big fan of college basketball and went to a game for the local University mens team last Saturday. I may go again Tuesday night if I have time. I have spent some time with my closest friends and will be doing a retirement party and lunch with coworkers. Any suggestions?
Popular Post Classic Dry Posted December 3, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2012 Before I, and my then wife, moved from the uk to australia in 1986, I made a list of all the things I thought I would miss. I haven't looked at it yet !!!!
Call me bubba Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) take a drive on a rural road, if you have some extra food stuffs donate it to a local food bank. make sure your shots are up-to-date. go to the drug store for , the stomach/bowels medicine, the"little man rain-coat" ha ha, or over the counter "family planning supplies", drink a shasta or Dr. Pepper.Coke(the newer flavors), go for a walk,drive-by around your old haunts, buy some borax powder(hard to find item,it is to get rid of ants, clean clothes) wash your clothes in that special "aroma" to have a smell of back home. Last item.make sure you turn off the lights and gas before you leave Edited December 3, 2012 by Pittman apartments Sgn
GregZ Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Go visit a place that you REALLY don't care for so the foul taste of the visit stays fresh in your memory :1 (103): as a reason you are in no hurry to go back. For me that would be Wal-Mart in the USA. :1927_: :hystery: :hystery: :hystery:
Popular Post JJReyes Posted December 4, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2012 If there is already snow somewhere like a nearby mountain, do a day trip. If the sceney looks wonderful, bring a snow shovel and use it for an hour. Then remind yourself that you are headed for the tropics for an extended stay.
Popular Post Fred & Mimi Posted December 4, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2012 Don't forget to tell your bank that you will be using your CC in the Philippines. Don't want to find your card blocked if that will be a source of your funds.

OnMyWay Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 take a drive on a rural road Although I am not originally from Kentucky, one of the few things I miss about the 2 years I spent there was the easy access to quiet country roads. I love to drive and find a drive in the country to be very relaxing. Assuming you will not be driving right away in Phils, get some drive time in, if you enjoy it! :cheersty:
