As most of you know, I was due to make the big move next week; that's not happening.  My elder daughter was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer.  She's only 22 and had been vaccinated against the virus that has been found to cause 90% of cases as part of the free program here for female children whilst in high school - lucky 10%.  I can't reasonably just up and leave.  The prognosis is good,  she's not too sick with the chemo and seems to be responding well.  It's the main reason for my lack of activity on these forums recently.

On the upside I'm still going to visit, arriving on the 19th April in Manila.  Pick my lady up, then we're going for a bit of a trek for the next 8 days.  Heading up to Clark, then down to Subic and maybe on to Boracay for a few days depending on how long I end up scuba diving in Subic.  The itinerary is not set in stone so keep an eye on my movements if you'd like to catch up for a few quiet ones <looks pointedly at a certain ex-USN Filipino> which I'll keep updated on here.

Take care,

Brett

Sorry for that. The younger the worse.

This can perhaps assist:

In Phili they have at least two natural meds, which they claim do some in fighting cancer.

I don't know if any official tests agree, but both in Taiwan and Phili organisations talk very good of one of these plants against several OTHER illnesses (I believe e g reduce problems with diabetes) and assist for poor to avoid missing nutrision illnesses.  I have read, but not from officials, it can FIGHT prostate cancer and one other type by itself, but for other cancer types it assist by geting less problem with modern chemical treatment. I have no idea about dosage, but you can ask sellers, when you visit Phili.  (I will buy some such myself for my father, who has slow process prostate cancer, when I go there.)

You are doing the right thing for your daughter!  And I'm glad to see that you have changed your mind about her boyfriend - this will help her immensely in her recovery, I think!  You're a good man, Brett - be positive and all will be okay.

And, before I forget, enjoy your break away to the Phils!

Well guys, good news.  One more biopsy tomorrow and it looks as if the all clear will be given.  I arrived back in Aust today, I'll make a detailed post of my experiences over the last 10 days in the "Life" forum after work tonight.

Thanks mate,  didn't do much socialising as such this time around but will be back in the area mid-june.
