If she is working then you may need to stay on the island so she can get to work and back. If she is not working you will probably want a place on the Cebu side as you will be going there every day (for just about anything you want to do) and the traffic on the bridge will drive you nuts. A one month stay makes it very hard to find a rental house. About 3 months is the minimum I have seen unless you want to pay daily rates (same as hotel).
