Yes, harder the FIRST time, but isn't it rather easy the following times?

When I fill out the form for getting an extention I always check the "other" box and give being married as the reason

for wanting to extend. If I checked the "tourist " box as the reason for wanting the extention would that cause a

problem do you think, I wouldn't actually be lying as I do tour around ocassionally to see different parts of the

country.

 

One BI official I asked said:  If you want a tourist visa you should check the box that says you are here as a tourist.  But I am not sure they really care.

You can afford yourself of the "new" 6 month long stay "visa" but I believe that it is only processed though, and therefore at the Manila office. Hopefully this will change or already has changed with the field offices being given permission to accept all sorts of applications now to include the dreaded 13a.
