Dave, glad you are doing ok. I for one know hospitals are not fun. Take care.

Stay healthy, Dave.

You were fortunate that the hospital had blood in stock. See my experience in post 38 :

Like wise good to read your OK, from the pics fail to see how you cannot be OK.....nice..

I had a bike accident last year in Santander, not to bad, mostly broken bones in my hand, lots of cuts and scales plus minor injuries.

Arrived at holly child hospital and definitely found the facilities lacking. Wasn't until I was close to fainting that I was offered a chair to sit down. The whole emergency room was packed, intern docs whom really had no idea what they were doing.

The orthopedic doc was excellent how ever took many hours to get him. In fairness this was around 7pm. Also money up front required.

Trust your problem Dave is well solved now.

Yes, I had previously escorted a friend to Holy Child emergency and I can tell you that facility is not the same quality of care as SMC.  In fact that Holy Child experience prompted me to tell my gf to be sure I was taken to SMC if ever I was in an emergency situation where I could not speak.  Of course any emergency room will be less than desired if crowded.  Perhaps I was very lucky this happened at the slowest time of the week.

Yes, I read what you wrote in that post and I shall repeat a piece of your good advice:

My advice is to have a list of names of each blood type of each of your loved ones.

Unfortunately, although I have known that for a long time now, the only friend I had lined up with A+ blood was unable to donate.

Glad it all went well, and what a great picture too, makes me want to feel poorly too if ever i visit the place,

The cost too i thought was very good, just make sure we have a credit card and some cash to full back on every time

Are you home now?

Yes, thanks.  I will have to do a couple follow up visits but seems like I am back to normal.

Hey Dave,

It's always scary seeing blood coming out from either end, not to mentioned the pain and discomfort during

that ordeal.  Now that you are back home, you can quickly recover and all your sorrows being massaged

away from your watchers......he, he.
