Nowhere is "safe" but some places are somewhat safer than others.

James, What do you mean by your statement. "In most States in the US they would have not shot the leg, but would empty 3 clips in the chest. So I guess he was lucky."?
I did the following Yahoo search: "Unarmed man shot by police" these were on the first 3 pages and are only recent events. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=620_1231187588http://www.kmov.com/topstories/stories/kmo...s.20289031.htmlOne of my Favorites of the Videoshttp://video.aol.com/video-detail/police-s...imes/3032182112http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2006/02/02...-for-no-reason/http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=...&id=4117847http://www.democracynow.org/2001/6/21/afte...icers_shoot_andhttp://www.examiner.com/a-1489645~Baltimor...narmed_man.htmlhttp://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...BAG46JAKDE1.DTLSean Bell, 23, was killed and two of his friends wounded early Saturday after a bachelor party. 50 rounds fired.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15918902/Yes to only be shot in the leg, not shot in the chest or head, and only one .45 round fired? A .45 is a man killer, and can make a man's head explode or cause serious if not fatal internal injuries. Yes I say he was lucky. The dumb-a** ex-cop could have murdered him. He will easily heal and will have his chance to get this jerk punished and serve as a training subject for other ex-cops who think they are above the law. Some of these guys are just as criminal as those they were suppose to protect the citizens from. I think this cop has power issues. Still US cops kill, and rarely just shoot the leg unless they are pitiful shots and were aiming for the chest...hehehe Edited by jamesmusslewhite

Since none of us were there, we have no idea what really happened. There is always three sides to every story, his side, the retired police officers side and then what really happened. I have found that even different eye witnesses will give different accounts of what happened in a situation. It is weird how different people see different things and then there is those who embellish on what they saw and those who take sides because of how they feel toward a non Filipino, or toward a African American or toward guns, etc, etc, so no one will know what actually happened. Robinson said that the retired police officer tried to shoot him twice more but the gun jammed, I find this very possible because I have seen many guns in the US and in the Philippines which are carried by police officers and which are never taken care of or even taken out of their holsters for months at a time and in the Philippines with the humidity, they can rust. Also many police officers in the Philippines cannot shoot worth a darn and therefore this ex cop could have been aiming for his chest and jerked the trigger and hit him in the leg by mistake. Each situation in a shoot out has its own circumstances, so I do not believe we can compare one shooting in the Philippines to any shootings in the states. If I want to look for an innocent person shot in the Philippines besides this man, assuming he was innocent, then there was the shooting in Manila that I seem to remember where the cops shot many shots into a car and then pulled the guy out of the car and shot him some more while he laid lifeless on the street. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time can get any of us killed or shot. Now with all that said, by the picture in that blog Mr. Robinson appears to be African American and I wonder if people will say that played into him getting shot. Boy I would hate to think Filipino cops will now be called prejudice toward African Americans or people of color.
