whosalildog Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Littledog, just sing the classic Sinatra song "My Way" then you get over there great way to break the ice. Hahahahahahaha You are a cruel man Old55! Just for your own safety Lildog I'd recommend you read the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Way_killings On my recent trip I was emphatically warned by Frosty and his lovely lady not to sing that! As to your original question? If you're a deliberately pretentious weirdo wanker that does it just for the attention, filipinos, like most people, will see through that pretty quickly. If you're just odd, individual, and your own person you'll probably be embraced. My experience is that Filipinos in general, are a very tolerant people. yeah this is crazy, i like it already. but i apologize i'd just like to be myself and see what there is out there, i will by no means pretend to be anything i'm not , but i do have an urge to do things i find funny in potentially unappropriate places, i guess i need to work on that , ha
frosty (chris) Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I wouldn't worry too much, the locals have probably seen it all anyway. They will just watch you, shake there heads and think another crazy long nose. More pun in the Philippines

We all like a bit of a joke but we also know that how we behave in the Philippines could have consequences. You will be entering a different culture which may take offence at what you think is funny. i just think we should reinvent the music scene, just for ourselvelves let's kick some names and take some ass. Not sure if many members here are interested in giving their ass up or taking someone elses or reinventing anything for that matter.

Forum Support Old55 Posted February 1, 2015 Forum Support Posted February 1, 2015 While I agree with the video you provided that Ferdinand Magellan is cooler than Justin Bieber keep in mind what happened to Magellan when in Cebu.
John Mogusar Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I saw some pretty bad bands while I was in the Philippines. I went to the Waterfront Casino one night in Cebu and they had a pretty poor band playing in the lobby. Later, I went to a nearby café and a duo was playing...a guy and a girl. The guy did all the singing. He had the most incredible voice I ever heard. I've seen some of my favorites in concert...Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Ray Charles...His voice was as unique as any of them, as was his style. I wish I could have signed him to a record label.
