Again maybe you are right, just seems a strange culture that takes advantage of another persons generosity

In my case Jack I have given up with the helping hand after being taken for granted, so the family have sent me to Coventry for my pains :999:

I have decided the country is full of unsupervised teens, waiting on their next allowance check.  The "grown ups" go OFW and the rest of the family can drink beer and party while waiting for the next remittance.  You want to give em some money... they will take it!  If you say 'no' they will look elsewhere.  No hard feelings. Just how the game is played. :tiphat:

Bingo King Tuk!  As Kevin commented about hey Joe, buy me dreenk, lub you no chit.....a relatively new Filipino culture reared its ugly head.  It's called the culture of dependency.  Probably started during the old US military days in PI but I think it was elevated when OFW's started to bring home the bacon.

Having an expat as part of the extended family is considered a jackpot with all kinds of crocodile tears that would win an Oscar Award.  The question remains......how well can you put your foot down softly?

Softly?  ...oops no one said I was supposed to do it softly.  I told them that when Melane married me the family did not win the f*ing lottery - is that soft enough?  It seemed to work :tiphat:
