I think the picture on the left is what they perceive their country to be like, or how they would describe it to others. The right is a true representation of how life is.

 

When i go for a parents meeting at my daughters school it always amazes me how the children perceive a house. They all draw the same type ( square with a triangular roof detached with 4 windows), but its so far from how the majority of houses look here.  Its really sweet actually.
