I would have included a good teapot in the BB box.

No room with all the bake beans , nesquik, peanut butter, chocolate spread, Horlicks :89:, biscuits , chocolates , shoes and more shoes, but it’s to the shops today to look for one, but for some reason the tea does not taste the same here, could it be the milk I wonder.

Did not think of that , I thought after boiling the water it would be fine, next project use bottled water for my next cup of tea.

Definitely - boiling it will kill the germs etc but won't help the taste Steve. We use bottled for cooking etc - my wife even insists on boiling bottled for my shave!

I can't believe you actually shipped canned baked beans here, Steve? Really?

Those are ubiquitous throughout the world... You can find them in just about any shop anywhere...

But they are not the same.  I have totally gone off baked beans since being in the Philippines.  They are horrid here.  Best I can say is they will keep a person from starving.  Many different brands available but all crap.  Even the Heinz brand here is not as good as Canadian brands or British brands, IMHO.  But to each their own.

What's wrong with beans in a balikbayan box, we had a 24 pack of Heinz, they were about 10% of the price here. Also a pack of Carnation milk, the local stuff is like water. Had our first Christmas pubbing the order day with tinned custard.:56da64a571a25_7_4_171:

Really, Dave? I have been buying Campbells and  some other brands here and find they are okay. Sure... baked beans are never what I would consider to be deluxe food... but I have found these to be similar or same as in USA? I never eat them straight up, but always doctor them with fresh fried onions, garlic and bacon or ham and sometimes other veggies. But Heinz, Watties (same brand, different name) , Campbells, Busch's and others may differ slightly, but I feel are basically the same product in different packaging..

So, about this point, I respectfully disagree with you Dave...

Simple things you don’t think about.
