If true I hope the national and international press get a hold of this. Hopefully his home country does something about this. This sheds a very bad light right on the Philippines. Two hospitals refused treatment. What ever happened to that oath doctors take?????? Disgraceful to say the least.

It's suggested the hospital was full and unable to treat new virus cases although the true facts will never be known.

Living in Philippines one must understand the healthcare system is third world and accept the consequences or move back to a more advanced country. Each of us must make that choice.

I would not agree poor health care in Cebu. From this post I would agree poor access to health care, as others have said its sad they sat in the ambulance and not tried other hospitals very close by.

All who decide to move from their home countries must realize and accept that they are, "not in Kansas any more..."

So many things are different here than back "home." Sorry if that sounds cold, but that is fact.

Maybe the British will do something, but i doubt it. 

I do know the USA's unofficial position it that you are responsible for your actions. You are responsible to understand local laws and customs before or "living" in a foreign country's. Unless it generates massive media coverage or violates international human rights, they will not intervene in local practices

Absolutely correct, clearly remember communication with the British Embassy about a national whom was about to loose his leg due to infection, no funds.....The were sympathetic but did nothing.

I seriously doubt this would be considered newsworthy, at least on an international level, sadly.  It's not like it's a revelation and would simply confirm what many outsiders believe to be the case here.

From my limited experience with hospitals in Cebu CITY or clinics I would say probably about as good as most general hospitals. Of course out in the backwoods hospitals are not equiped for much at all.
