A bit like giving the troops campaign medals and the Commanding Officers MBE's, CBE's etc.

It just struck me as being a little out of touch as the NHS was deep in the more of Covid-19 at the time.

I would give a medal to all of those hard-working NHS Filpino nurses (many of them are actually doctors, just waiting for their UK accreditation), every day.

I remember being at Cambridge Addenbrooke's hospital, tending to my ex-wife who had a bad lung infection. The Filipino nurses were the only ones showing humanity and professionalism in equal measures. The only ones who gave me, the guest, a cup of tea rather than just the patient. Kindness goes a long way...one doesn't have to be Patch Adams to notice...
