Wait, he is from USA.  Thanks for getting me all confused Dave.  :hystery:

Yeah :hystery:  But he could buy all his stuff in Oz and ship it from there. :56da64b64cbd8_36_6_31:  I was confused because the topic title was about shipping a container and he did not specify from where.  Many times I thought about having a friend load up a container for me in Oz and send it to me in Phils.  But shipping from US is good too.  Just more expensive and stuff don't work without a transformer.

I noticed my two fans from England (50hz ?) didn't last long.

Appliances with motors will (without a circuit to regulate speed) run faster on 60Hz power than on 50Hz power roughly by the ratio 6/5 times.

When an electric motor is designed to run at a certain speed you're basically over speeding it which will increase wear.

There are devices where this doesn't matter, laptop power supplies are generally made to run on either 50Hz or 60Hz (and often on 110v or 240v) for example but motor driven devices... much less common.

Yes, all of my other'appliances... and I have lots from the UK (Xboxes, DVD players, music systems, etc).... all fine. Most of these things will have a label somewhere anyway of course, usually specifying '50-60 Hz'.  So you know you're okay with them. I also have power surge protectors on each circuit.

I was "bitten" by electrify here more in my first year than in my entire prior life. :571c66d400c8c_1(103):
