Strange. I know since their introduction into the southern USA they have caused havoc among the ground nesting bird population and even new born calves have succumbed to them.

I thought so too but, as I say, my 4 don't seem to notice them.  Maybe the thicker fur discourages the ants but the fleshy part of the paw would still be attractive to them, I'd imagine.
