I wonder if Drew Frederick Shobbrook is still in there.  Maybe they can be friends.

I believe the detention center is only for those awaiting trial or disposition of their cases. Once convicted they’re moved to a prison. I recall reading Drew was moved to one in Leyte shortly after he was convicted in 2018.

He's news now in The Manila Bulletin

BI arrests 'undesirable' American, Indian visitors

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Barry Lee Jordan, a 48-year-old American, was arrested in Carcar City, Cebu on April 28 for his alleged overstaying in the country for more than seven years.

He did not have any travel documents and was charged with undesirability for threatening a bartender with a knife while livestreaming on the internet, Tansingco said.

Meanwhile, Harwinder Singh, 33, was arrested on April 25 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 by the BI's Border Control and Intelligence Group.

Tansingco said that Singh was caught with a counterfeit Philippine entry visa on his passport and was prevented from boarding a flight to New Delhi after the BI's forensic laboratory confirmed that his visa was fake.

The aliens are currently detained at the BI detention center in Taguig City pending deportation.

Here is the link from The BI announcing his deportation.  Note the BI Commissioner statement that he filmed "himself" pulling a knife on a bartender.

PRESS RELEASE

02 May 2023

BI agents nab 2 illegal aliens in Cebu, Manila

CARCAR CITY, Cebu—The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said its agents have arrested two illegal aliens in Cebu and Manila.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the aliens, an American and Indian National, were arrested by operatives from the BI intelligence division in separate operations conducted in Carcar City and at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Tansingco said the aliens are now detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while undergoing deportation proceedings for violating Philippine immigration laws.

BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. identified the American as 48-year-old Barry Lee Jordan who was arrested last April 28 at his partner’s residence in Bgy. Upper Buenavista, Carcar City.

Members of the BI’s regional intelligence operations unit based in Cebu reported that Jordan had been overstaying in the country for more than seven years or since Dec. 27, 2015 when he last arrived in the country as a tourist.

It was learned that Jordan was not able to present or any travel document when confronted by the arresting team, thus he will also be deported for being an undocumented alien.

Jordan was also charged for undesirability, having been considered a threat to his community. Videos of Jordan circulated on Youtube allegedly threatening a bartender with a knife while livestreaming.

Manahan also reported that last April 25, elements from the BI’s border control and intelligence group (BCIU) at the NAIA 3 terminal intercepted and arrested an Indian national who was caught with a fraudulent entry visa on his passport.

Harwinder Singh, 33, was about to board a flight to New Delhi when the immigration officer who processed him doubted the authenticity of the Philippine entry visa that is pasted on his passport.

Examination conducted by the BI’s forensic documents laboratory confirmed that the said visa is counterfeit. #

I wonder how Mr Drew is and wonder whether, all these  years after his offenses, he regrets not paying his maid more, adn having a few less girls around his place.

For now.  But will they hold onto him?

I just received this video from a friend who is familiar with whats going on with Jordan. He's still in BI Mandaue Detention center. He also has Criminal cases against him which is preventing his deportation.  The other foreigner Phillip Justin Bean who was arrested for overstaying, fighting with a local, illegally working in Cebu was his jail mate can also be see in the video.
