At that price point you'd expect superior performance.  That said, If I was laying out that kind of cash I'd probably go for a specialist audio company like Bose.

Agree.  And people who can afford the latest Apple Airpods certainly have a lot more discretionary spending money than I.

I'll just get these:

I had the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 and they were great. Replaced them with the Sony WM1000XM3 last year. I work in an office that is wide open, no cubes and each desk touches each other. I also use them on conference calls and when flying. The Sony's work great and they are comfortable. I also have a pair of cheap ones I bought on Amazon and they work well. I would choose the highest end Sony if money didn't matter. If it does then the Sony WM1000XM3 is best for the money.

I tested the volume of 'noise' coming out of the disco speakers and this was from my garden behind a concrete wall. 87 db which can cause permanent hearing loss I already got tinnitus in both ears. These idiots think they are doing the community a favor!

It's every Saturday night till the end of July then a long weekend of disco 'noise explodes then same again end of August.

Last year we rented an apartment for those noisy long weekends.

I honestly don't think any noise canceling headphones would completely hide this kind of noise, It's the base that comes through the walls and windows and shakes the pictures on the wall.

In the past you've mentioned this ridiculous noise forced on your area Jim. Honestly I'm amazed you are still sane after being bombarded by this thoughtless stupidity every year.

Doubtful that noise canceling headphones would block or more importantly protect you from that level of noise. Especially the loud bass.

My only suggestion would be a quality sealed ear muff. I had to use foam ear plugs with ear muffs at work sometimes to mitigate noise. Foam ear plugs alone may help especially at bed time. I bring ear plugs every time we visit Cebu. Not often I have to used them but it's nice to know I've got them if I can't sleep.

OASHA calls out 84dB at 8 hours the threshold fro permanent hearing damage.
