craftbeerlover Posted November 3 Posted November 3 So, I am ordering chicken and liempo at Andoks yesterday, and immediately following my order, the guy waiting on me takes a HUGE wad of that plastic cord, they use to wrap boxes at places like Robinsons, and throws it into the burn pit they use to cook the chicken. Then proceeds to mix it around to make sure it burns good, right below more than a half a dozen whole chickens. I almost said, what in the f are you doing, but I kept my mouth shut. Hindsight I wish I had said something.
BrettGC Posted November 3 Posted November 3 BPA flavoured meat.. A new taste sensation? Personally I would've walked if I hadn't already paid. Locally here the barangays have started clamping down on back yard burns; I think they've finally realised how toxic it actually is. Either that or they've realised what a great revenue raiser it can be. I suspect the latter.

Popular Post Guy F. Posted November 8 Popular Post Posted November 8 I’ve grown very cautious about any street food or most restaurants. All the food that sits for hours at improper temperature is … ummm… unappetizing, to say the least. 7

I'd agree with this - but, I do buy BBQ chicken and pork from Chooks to go and the like as the stores I buy from are very busy and the food doesn't sit around long once cooked. Now, what happens to the meat pre-cooking is anybody's guess but that applies to supermarket and restaurant meat as well.
Clermont Posted November 9 Posted November 9 That’s the secret, don’t buy street food and be careful of takeaway foods as well. Earlier in the year I spent two stints in hospital and over two hundred k on hospital bills . A worm had found its way into the intestine and it took a bit of getting rid of. The specialist said it was most likely a egg of the worm to start with. 2

Im sorry to hear that Jack, if you get crook don’t muck around, dehydration is your biggest enemy and don’t muck around with tablet’s to fix the problem, intravenous medicine is needed and a good specialist. Tablets only go through you without dissolving. We’ve wrote about medical insurance but I think, put a bit away each pension for that rainy day . 1

I agree that it can be unappetizing but I must say, the last time I got sick from food in the Philippines was 1994!!! It was a banana split and I didn't even get to finish it before I felt sick and started puking. I was okay after a couple of days. I eat a lot of street food and don't know if I just been lucky, or if my stomach is made of steel?
