guy waiting on me takes a HUGE wad of that plastic cord, they use to wrap boxes at places like Robinsons, and throws it into the burn pit they use to cook the chicken.

They sell charcoal in plastic bags, my wife used to throw the empty bag on the grill right after the charcoal.

I eat a lot of street food and don't know if I just been lucky, or if my stomach is made of steel?

The street food is fine because they know to cook it enough, the problems can happen here if you buy uncooked food, and don't.

I agree, that’s why I do not complain if they burnt it a little. What I usually do for barbecue is I pick up how many I will buy and will flip them myself on the grill to make sure it is cooked just right. Then I will hand it to the vendor and say to wrap it only in paper, not plastic. After a few buys from the same vendor, she’ll do it the same way every time.
