For 13a cheap PhilHealth. What if my wife lives in USA?

This is messy.  My wife wants to stay in USA, while I retire to Philippines on a 13a.  I'm wondering if this will put a kink in me getting cheap Philhealth?  Heck, does her living in USA complicate me getting a 13a?

Thank you for any info!

Very much so, Your wife signs a letter to say you are living together as a married couple at the address she must give, She may even be called to an interview, I am afraid you will be on a loser here my friend :tiphat: best to remember that a 13a is a Visa by her request to immigration and not yours:mellow:

Plus PhilHealth doesnt really get you very much benefit.

If you are concerned for health, you want to have better coverage than PhilHealth.

Do your research , a great number of hospitals and doctors refuse to work with PhilHealth because it takes them months or years to actually get paid.

I'v had no problems getting hospital treatment with Phil-health and not heard anyone else for that matter. Where did you get that info from?

But I do agree with you about ' philHealth don't get much benefit.

Hundreds of articles about the same thing.. this has been ongoing since when Duque was in charge.  Check if your hospital honours Phil Health seems to be necessary these days. I stopped paying for PhilHealth for my gf as the cost to benefit ration didnt make any sense given the limited benefits.

It's pretty inexpensive though so even 1 use in a few years would pay for itself.  We've had it for the 8 years we've been here and paid maybe 20k in premiums over that period.  We've used it twice in that time and we're breaking even at worst.

An added benefit is that having it can help protect against overcharging as rates are fixed as per the contract and menu pricing system.

It's not great, I'll agree with that, but I do think it's better than nothing.

Used PhilHealth 3 times now, saved me money.

Two private hospitals, Holy child and Siliman both in Dumagete.

Agree on all points.  I think the interview with both of you is 100%.  She would have to be here and you both would have to lie to the about the whole scenario.  Not good.

Better off to just go with a tourist visa or SRRV.  Not quite understanding why you would want to be separated from your spouse but that is your business.
