The issue will be that the type of tourist Thailand tends to attract may well be disqualified from claiming under the scheme anyway i.e. young guns shooting around on hired motorcycles or taking part in activities through unlicenced operators.  Also, the trial period is too short to really get meaningful date - the tourism numbers will naturally increase as the pandemic rides off into the distant past so they will have no idea the impact of the new policy.

Regardless, I think it's a great initiative and I commend them for being a government which actively seeks to develop a thriving tourism industry.
