Hiya: Maybe this has been asked before, i am to lazy to look and see..................I thought with all the different backgrounds, and resources, and the like, that we all proabely have different daily routines, and activities, business, ect. So, On a normal day/week/month, what do you do?I am up at 6 am daily. I turn on the impact sprinkler for the grass, and i walk from the house to Morong town proper, to the bakery, and buy Pandosol. At p2 each i get 10-20 of them, and walk home. It is a 3.7 kilomenter walk. I then convert the sprinker to the hand held part, and water the tree's, shrubs, ect that the impact did not reach. Shower. Then Coffee, and bread from the bakery, and sometimes eggs, or whatever my sisterin law may have cooked.I then go over, and taking water from the well, i water my garden. I then log onto the Internet Casino, and usually play for around an hour. If i had taken any pictures, "Family, festival, ect", i e mail them to my wife. Each day, around 11am, my wife calls from Las Vegas on Skype video. She has checked her e mail prior to this to see if there are any pictures. After seeing her brother, Benny, with down syndrome, she is always happy that he is so happy that i am here. This, more than anything else makes the seperation worth it from my wifes point of view. After lunch i usually take a short nap. I then will do various things that are on my list i made, to make sure i accomplish while i am here. Build a small Tool room, build a chicken coop, expand the garden, build a BBQ Rotisary grill, and the like.Scheduled return to Las Vegas is 6 augest. Then returning back, shortly after that. Later, the neighbors, and their kids come over, and we watch TV. This will be improved when i get my dvd/vcr recorder/player here, as i have over 200 movies. Some of the construction of our house was with sub par materials. Mainly, the roller assembly for the drawrs of all the cabinets. So, i spend some times each few days, replacing them. I play Heroes of M&M5 on my PC for a little bit each day, and then Log back into the Casino for a while at night, before going to bed. There are NO banks or ATM machines in Morong. So, to get the money on the debit card, we have to drive to Subic Freeport. I have to do this once a week. Every 2 weeks, i go to the Freeport exchange, and buy food, coffee, and the like. It is about a 20 minite drive, 1 way, from our house to Subic Freeport. I printed out Maps of the entire Morong/Subic/Olongapo area, and after the elections will spen some time each week driving around, so i know where everything is at. Korean Food places as example. I had the repersenitive of the homeowners association come over and explain to me what happened with the disputed beach lots. They Lost. The developer has done nothing yet. Almost all the houses are still there, and no one is doing anything. The court told the developer that he had to pay $1000 to each owner who had a house made of Blocks, so they could move their house across the dirt road. I guess the houses made of wood and bamboo get almost nothing. The judge also said, "All the boats get to stay". At the high tide line, all the boats are allowed to be there. If he actually developes the land, there will be a right of way, for all the fishers to have access to their boats on the beach. This will include the Boat I will buy later on. I was told, in the meantime, to use bamboo, and netting, and make a boundry of the land i bought the rights to from the guy who lives on the lot. It is 33 feet wide, and 70 feet deep. Then to build a Hut, or anything, to Mark My Spot. This is less than a $200 investment, and as i make money, i will get started on this, as part of my daily routine. So, What do you all do?

Hiya: No, i have not met the developer/owner. I was told he is a retired General. The funny part is, "How do you pick up a house, and move it about 50-100 feet, across the street? It is not FREE to do so, and these are poor fishermen. Thus, No one is actually doing anything. Some people even made their house bigger. I asked what happens when the owner shows up, and everyone and their house is still there? No one knows the answer. Who even knows what his real intentions are for the land? Up the road several kilometers is a development called Anvaya Cove. Maybe he wants to do something like that, or maybe he just wants the clear land title, so he can sell it to someone else? There are/were other beach lots in the area for sale, but they were all way to big for me. All i want is a small lot for my boat. I also found out, since all boats get to stay, i can build a, "Floating Dock", and it also gets to stay. thumbs-up-smile.gif

That is a lovely mental picture... You + Laptop + wife and a cold one "working" on your floating dock being rocked gently by the waves.... Mmm..Got room for a visitor?? 7_3_205[1].gif13_4_10[1].gif :th_goodidea: Edited by Singers

Love2winalot,Maybe it would be wise to meet the developer/owner soon and scope him out. My experience with senior officers (in your case, a retired General) is to watch your back and proceed with caution. He has spent many years accumulating influence and wealth (guns, goons and gold). So please be careful. In some cases, to clear occupants from property, a short burst from anArmalite would do the trick. But then he would have to contend with local NPA's sympathizedwith the poor fishermen.Getting back on track -- your island lifestyle with manana, manana attitude is where I wouldlike to be during my retirement. My profile says -- that's me, nice and slow -- with my lovelycompanion and a pitcher of MoJo.Respectfully -- Jake Edited by Jake

hiya: I hope some of you who are running some sort of business chime in. Some of you have a jeepony operation, or Internet Cafe, or chickens, or whatever. How much of your time each day does this take up? How far away from your residence is it, thus, travel time? Some of you are spending time in the clubs and bars and such. How about interacting with other expats? In my area, there is only one other, and he is from Austria, built a big house on the beach, almost straight across from our house on the hill. But he does not live there. He has a caretacker watching it, and only comes once in a while to visit. Once in a while i will see other expats at, Smart communications, or the hardware store in Olongapo, but i have never tried to start up a conversation with any of them.

Love2winalot,After working 30 years at a back breaking job and retiring here in the Philippines, I have no endeavors in any way to start up any kind of business! I enjoy my kicked back lifestyle too much! SugarwareZ-003.gif13_4_10[1].gif
