Yea, the punch I referred to was in the 6th or 7th round, the one you alluded to was in the last, I believe. I realized that after I posted. That vicious left really hurt Hearns and set up everything else later. Leonard's arrogance was mostly early in his career, he matured and changed a lot as he got older. His early interviews after he first turned pro sounded like an Ali imitation. Ali will always be my favorite, I saw him box an exhibition match in person in the 60s when his license was taken away, he "fought" 3 guys, a round or 2 each. He was clowning around, yelling how pretty he was (and this was Virginia in the 60s) but every once in a while he would do the Ali shuffle and start throwing punches in a blur, not really hitting them because it was just an exhibition and he didn't want to hurt them. Really an amazing individual. They say styles make good fights and one I would have loved to see was Ali vs Tyson, both in their primes. No idea who would win. I think you could make a case that most of the good young fighters are going into MMA rather then traditional boxing. Seems to be much better organized and probably pays better. I've heard Dana White deserves a lot of credit for that.

MIKE B.... you're so young in your profile pic! lol.... just kidding with you, though you do look 35. Whatever your age, you're a young guy to me. Watching Ali in the 60's during his TO is amazing. I think the top boxers makea million times more money than the top MMA fighters, but it's probably more even across the board than boxing is. The UFC is becoming a league like most American sports, with control over most of the top competitors in the sport of MMA. Most of the fighters make similar money, with the top range not that far beyond the dreams of the undercard fighters. The top fighters in the UFC make a small fraction of the top fighters in boxing, but overall, MMA is healthier than boxing and will only improve witth time. Dana White, for all his faults, came from a boxing background and claims it's his model of how NOT to run MMA. So far he's doing a good job, whether people like him or not.

It was similar to that back-pedaling straight he KO'd Forrest with: a strike you don't expect much from, but placed so perfectly with the most exquisite technique, that it scrambles the guy's brain. I was telling my wife after that usually a head kick KO is a big winding kick from the side, but this was like a Thai kick used for pushing off, only it was off Belfort's jaw, and twisted with the heel at the right place and moment that he needed very little help from the rest of his leg. I love GSP.... but he better go for the takedown.

ps... I had one of those connections here online that was like 4 seconds on.... 2 seconds off.... and right when they went in to start the fight after touching gloves, it paused..... AND THEN BELFORT'S BEING INTERVIEWED WITH A HIGHLIGHT OF THE LOSS!!! goddamn lag in time..... i'm just glad i got that little tidbit. Earlier in the day, all my torrent sites were blocked. Now not, but it's a scary reality: I might have to actually live in Asia one day without American sports and television... OMG

Yep, if GSP wins it, it will have to be a snoozefest ....

Sorry, that was the balls of his feet, not the heel, now that I got a good look at it. Apparently he was training with Steven Seagal, and that's who taught him the kick, right up to before the fight correcting his technique for it. Steve learned it decades ago himself in Japan. It's crazy how MMA has convinced most of us who needed little convincing that traditional martial arts are ineffective in real fights, only to see guys from those backgrounds dominate MMA, albeit with all styles incorporated: GSP (karate), Silva (taekwondo), and to a lesser extend Machida (Karate and Sumo).

Silva is a freak... can more then likely knock you out with his testicles and submit you with his penis, you just KNOW he's practicing that crap at the end of a training session for the hell of it ...and can do it. It's fortunate for opponents they fight with cloths on, because I can hear Rogan now...."Silva has his testicles near GSP's face....all he has to do his get his right leg over, and...there it IS!...he's got the cocklockangle hold, he's thinking of porn now...oh, it's Lucy Thai and Anita Blonde in a threesome...the pressure is building and GSP is beginning to sleep...let's hope Silva doesn't get more excited...OMG, he's thinking Seka in her prime joining in...GSP taps!"master:ABR086.jpg?is=310,310,0xffffffSilva practicing cuckolds with this practice dummy? I can see it.......:551:Steven Seagal

"I couldn't have been more happy," Seagal told MMAHeat. "Because right before he walked out I said to him, 'Stay away from him for the first, you know, two, three minutes, just kind of get him frustrated and fake low and come high and do that kick I've been teaching you and kick him in the head or the face. He did exactly what I said and exactly what I wanted to happen and I was very, very proud of him."There you have. It's because of Seagal that the two fighters nearly bored the audience to sleep after staring at one another for a good three minutes.
