That story amazed me. Not because he appears to have had a brain bleed but because the teacher is likely to loose her job for being married and having sex with someone other than her husband. Jessie was really bothered by that.While there are pockets of the Philippines that are anything but conservative (and I want to go there) but wow. Some visitors the Philippines get such a distorted understanding from going only to places like Angeles City and this action toward the teacher would not sit well with most Filipino, it does show just how conservative the Philippines can be. This is the most remarkable part of the story to me.

There is still a strict and detailed morality code for female teachers in Philippines. Back in the 90’s even rumor of unladylike conduct was enough to face dismissal.Many of my family members living there are or have been teachers.

Rusty, I see that the article mentioned he was married (but seperated) but no mention of her marital status. Where did you see that she was married??????
