Cheap New Guesthouses / Hotels In Cebu?

Hi,

I wonder if there are any cheap new Guesthouses / Hotels in Cebu, the loke one can get for example for 15 US$ in Cambodia, including wifi, aircon, fridge, TV, etc.?

I'll be coming over in 2 days.

Also, can one just buy a SIM-card in any phone shop? ny company preferable?

Near Fuentes Circle there are lots of cheap and many new pension houses. They run from 999 and up but the 999 sell out quick. There are older places around too. Mainly in the older areas like Colon. These can go as low as 750 with aircon, tv and hot water. Even lower if you find a place that skips any of these three amenities.

So with that in mind you need to decide location, preferred amenities, and how high you are willing to go to get what you want. More than 1,500 pesos a night is really not necessary but you can pay as much as you want.

It is not as cheap here as in cambodia but if you google Agoda they have a good selection of Cebu hotels and you can book online.

I am in the process of making a list of all the places to stay in Cebu with basic prices as a guide to put on my website. I am about half way through the project, but this is the cheaper end of my list to date. Hope it helps.

NB the basic price may not be available when you try to book; it is intended as a guide to the type of place you are choosing. The General Area is again a rough guide of where you are in Cebu. Also ther are more columns in the original file that would not fit in!

Great list!

I recommend that anyone interested still check out what they are getting. A good example is the first one on your list - Sugbutel... Prices start at P99 but I think that is only for the bed - no linens. And that is all you really get here - it's a hostel with bunks and a curtain across the side of your bunk. Still the reviews are great! So if snoring bothers you... Hehe! I know I would be asked to find new accomidations shortly upon nodding off...

As a rule of thumb, is it possible to bring ladies with me to those cheaper pensions? How's the vibe in those places? (I know, each place is different, but still...)

Almost all will allow you to have one guest as each room is charged based on 2 to a room. I have had cheap places refuse to allow more than one guest at a time in the room so that may be common.

You mean more than one guest, plus you = more than 2 people?
