Our Daily Bread

Here in Canada, I usually make my own bread - a simple bread using just water, yeast, a little sugar to get the yeast going, a little oil for leavening, a touch of salt and flour. Definitely not a sweet bread. There is a store not too far away I will buy the occasional commercial loaf from if I don't have time to make my own. Recently I bought a name brand loaf while visiting a friend and it taste like it was all sugar! So maybe the idea of sweet bread is spreading?
