If it's an update on the approaching storm please keep it under this topic. All the posts from the merged topics are in chronological order under this thread. Thanks.

OK thanks guys. The only thing I have done is moved the topic to Weather Updates (Typhoon warnings)  It is best to have one source or place to check on what is happening.

just to add, I have added a scrolling message at the top of each page.

Looks from the forecast that this typhoon will be well and truly blowing like hell 300+ KmH on Thursday. Wonder what sort of storm surge we can expect? Lots of people here in Argao living right on the beach.

Look at the wind speeds!  Thursday afternoon it is supposed to hit 270-325 kph, which for those who still think in mph like me, is 168-201 mph.  The winds are supposed to slow a bit before hitting the Philippines, but still very bad!  We call this a Cat 5 down in Florida and I guess Super Typhoon is appropriate here.

Everyone in the path, stock up on food, water, gas, cash, batteries, etc., and find a safe place.  This is a dangerous storm!

This typhoon is similar in track and strength of Super Typhoon MIKE (RUPING) which passed across the Visayas in November of 1990 and devastated much of Metro Cebu.

Yes, I have a bad feeling this is not going to be good. My friends at the ERUF are already doing a little pre-emergency planning.

Here in the Philippines, it seems that most don't pay that much attention to getting ready for storms because they are so common.  This storm is a killer.  It would be wise to look at some of the tips on this web site, and be prepared.

Just spoke to SAO, as most of you know, our house is in Negros on the beach, she's worried, says a lot.  Sleepless night ahead I think.

I asked my girlfriend if we should go stock up... she looks up and asks "why?"  And I had just shown her the information about the storm... not worried at all ha ha.
