Popular Post Lordblacknail Posted January 25, 2014 Popular Post Posted January 25, 2014 Here is the absolute best advice about living in the RP that you are ever going to get. Don't buy a house, land or build a house until you have lived here for a while. It is different here then any place you have probably lived before. Visiting here is not living here. If your rich and can walk away from a house you build when you decide its time to leave, go for it but otherwise, live here awhile to be sure it is for you. It is for sure not for me. I have lived here three years and cant wait to move. But that's me. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
franzh Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 So I'm curious... For those who are fairly negative on the prospects for foreigners happily living here (as am I...), such as Subic Steve and Lordblacknail, et. al., how would you describe your two or three main reasons why you personally find it difficult to stay, and would cause you to leave? Me personally, after about two years here I have a list of negatives that I could write a book about, but let's not go there cuz it will just make me upset... :)

She lived in America for 13 years and realizes what a lovely place this aint.
stevewool Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 home is where the heart is, but it helps if you have a little extra cash and something to do and have no worries too, now where is that place
robert k Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Home is not a place, it's people. I believe it was Samuel Clemens who said "home is the place that when you have to go there, they have to take you in". :)
