Are there any Agents available to escort you to acquire a drivers license ?

Ah... you are looking for a fixer, I think? Those are frowned upon here, but apparently they are still available. They hang about in front of the local LTO licensing office looking for business.

However, I did it myself last year and it really was not difficult, just time consuming: Window 1, then wait. Window 2 after 30 minutes, then wait. Window 3 after another 30 minutes, then wait....photos twice. And before all that you go for a medical check that is a joke really. And it's not at all expensive.

Here in the Davao LTO, there is a large signboard listing the steps for obtaining a license. But I was told by the medical office to just go to a guy sitting in front of the windows and he would start me off in the right direction. The people in the windows were usually helpful by showing me the next step.

However, if you have not already read parts of this or other threads, your first step is that you need a long term visa - one year or longer. Tourist visas don't fly - at least here in Davao and in other places if not all.

Good luck to you!

I am planning my move from Thailand to Phils. Most likely Cebu, but open to other destinations too.

Non smoker. Non drinker. So the bar scene is not my bag anymore.

Ride my bikes every day, so that is a must.

Seen some nice condos for long term in Manduae area.

ETA fall 2020. Settle affairs here, got a contract back home. Then off I go

Gave up driving here no road rules, everybody does their own thing ! We employ a driver on a regular basis i can sit in the back of the car and enjoy the scenery , and arrive at our destinations and home again relaxed

That's what I decided also.

My U.K licence expires next year too (because of age).  Can't see myself renewing it, to be honest.

have to get my license sorted out as soon as this lockdown is over, at the moment it does not matter much as we can only get a pass to go shopping once a week. We were due to go back to the UK on the 22nd of May but I don't think that's going to happen and to be honest I won't be going back there until they have this virus beaten, at the moment they have big problems !! I think we are so much safer here for the next 3 or 4 months any way. We could not get back if we wanted to any way with the restrictions !!

IF you believe the numbers being published you're right, we're safer here.  But...

And, if you were unlucky to fall ill here, you may wish you were back in the UK.

Anyway, you have no choice so hey ho!

:89: That HK depends on Johns Status here and the desire to return to the Uk just now, Yesterday Evening a UK Chartered Aircraft left Dumaguete with 60 British Nationals  onboard, I saw earlier Today via the Embassy notice that there may be more flights and anyone wishing to go should contact the Embassy
