Rusty & Candyman, Both of your eloquent comments from what you have both attained here in the Philippines are whole heartedly felt and with great admiration from me personally! It surely makes the Philippines look and sound by your sincere words, a lot less of a "God forsaken country" as some may perceive it to be just from hearsay or what they hear, see or read in the news media! Thanks! Also though, I don't want anyone coming here with a vision of paradise. Because what is paradise to one can be hell for another. It is too freaking hot (really humid as actual temperatures are a little lower here than August in Memphis) and there are too many brownouts. The brownouts really piss me off. haha There are other problems too. That incident with the janitor inserting a catheter for example. I can't conceive of that happening in the USA but it happened here.I should put a disclaimer on everything I say, like those over hyped ads on TV in the USA (I guess they still have them haha) and the Internet. "Your results may vary."Take a look back to 40 to 50 years after the USA was formed. Talk about corruption, heck we even had slaves! Edited by Flirltilzier

Your comments reminds me of Travis aka Traveler! But he still intends on returning if and when he gets well from his illness and has a nest egg saved up from his Walmart job! as-if.gifLocation, location, location and enough money to live on is the key and air conditioning!mocking.gif Edited by Art2ro

It makes me think how close heaven and hell really are. This place can be heaven with enough money and the right attitude . . . or it can be hell (if you are reincarnated as a squatter for example).

I love it here because I realize this is not Texas, they do not want to be Texans, and it will never be Texas. It is the Philippines. You can be afraid to live here, that is fine, but every country in the world has problems. Those that do not have what it takes to live here are wise not to do so. Those who do have what it takes, can find a great life here. I personally love it here, and do not see myself leaving. But living here is not for everyone.

I believe the OP made that post in response to his reading about the Norwegian getting arrested and the fact that the law says an alibi is not a defense. I believe that when I read laws such as that one that does not make any sense, then I start to feel the same way about the Philippines at times. That poor couple had to spend 19 days in jail for something which was obvious that they did not do because video tapes confirmed by time and date stamp that they were not where the crime was committed, and on top of the tape they had many eye witnesses who could prove they were with them at the time of the crime. Archaic laws here, that often make no sense to me, trouble me as well, and no one should have to spend 19 days in a jail when their alibi could have been confirmed within hours. So I believe that was why he wrote what he did and why I did not feel the need to delete his post at the time it was posted.
Lee, an alibi is a defense. It is case law. This is from the prosecutors office that released the pair:
AlibiIn their 11-page resolution released Monday, the prosecutors, citing the case of People v. Hillado, said: "To establish alibi, the accused must prove by positive, clear and satisfactory evidence that (a) he was present at another place at the time of the perpetration of the crime, and (b) that it was physically impossible for him to be at the scene of the crime."The prosecutors gave credence to the NBI's report and the hotel security photos attached to their report, saying these were "relevant and material to the resolution of this case."They said the couple's whereabouts "before on and after" February 8, 2011 -- the day of the abduction -- were "well supported by documentary evidence as well as footage taken by CCTV cameras of the places they have been.""In effect, the respondents' defense of alibi in this case was established by positive, clear, satisfactory and independent evidence," the prosecutor's office said. Taken from: http://ph.news.yahoo.com/ss/20110301/tph-norwegian-fianc-e-freed-54d2832.htmlThe dad is filing for an appeal. He wants them locked back up. Dad said it was the one day he didn't pick his child up from school. But, some pedo could have been stalking this little girl and grabbed his opportunity. The police had kids telling them they saw a white man with the girl. The kids later identified him. If the police had not detained him the questions would have been why not. After they had him behind bars, I suspect none of the police wanted to take a chance on letting him go. Now that's not right but it is how humans often behave. (not directed at you)

Abducted kids are usually killed within the first 4 hours, and all (99%) are killed in 24.The horrific part of this entire story is that they ARE innocent, yet...if it wasn't for the fact they got lucky with a video camera capturing their whereabouts, two innocent people would be in jail. THAT, is the foresaken part of third world countries. BTW, this killer is still on the loose, and will strike again, here or wherever he took his next flight to. IMHO, that is the real story here...the real killer. If I was the investigating officer in charge, I would search for foreigners that might of left the country after this girls body was found, and check the records back in their home countries if they were registered in any sex crimes. If he has not left, expect more of the same somewhere in the Philippines. If this was his first, possible....it will take a bit of time before the next, and then they will become more frequent. Some sick bastard is still out there, and possibly still in the Philippines. Does anybody remember Gary Glitter from the UK? Do a google on him.Pop star found with child pornography on his computer back in the 80's....spent a few months in prison UK style, then went to....SE Asian countries after his release, for.... you guessed it, to have sex with children. Finally caught and sent to prison for a few years SE Asian style, released, and now back in the UK. Third world countries are a haven for these sub humans. :th_closed:

Inspector, Jessie's oldest, 10 years old couldn't be found for several hours the other day.He hadn't been home all day which is very unusual. Turned out he was a party.Jessie was frantic, in tears. Hesitant to call the police because not enough time had passed. I don't know if her hesitation was valid or not. Valid because of how she thought she'd be treated. Just as he was headed out the door to to check the hospital and then the police he showed up. Something every parent has gone through, I'm sure.I don't know if this case was in her mind but it was certainly in mine. I think she left his head attached. :SugarwareZ-034:

Always a nightmare anytime you don't know where your child is...and with this case, I am certain it was in her mind. The real killer is still out there...although I am guessing in another country, or a lot closer then some might believe. Plus, seems the sick bastard targets pre-puberty females, so I would be more worried if this was a pinay. Most missing kids turn up as was in the case with Jessie (thank God for that), but those who are for sure known as abducted will not and be killed within 24 hours. Those are just real facts...and that is ANY parents worst nightmare. A lot of sick bastards are out there....and many in those "great" first world countries.
This guy likes boys, post puberty but around the puberty years. :Mad:123Sick fecker brought his own SON.....you would be amazed at the people this show has caught...a Rabbi, a good looking young hollywood actor, and a New York City FIREMAN! That's the weird part....this killer of the young girl in the Philippines? The witness testimony of it being a foreigner and a pinay?...with the adbuction and eventual killing, makes no sense. I can understand a foreigner alone doing this, or a pinoy that is entrusted and known to her, but the entire team aspect is quite odd...although money, and the lack of, can make for some people to do anything but why entrust a woman too old to actually get you off to keep this secret, and most of these types do work alone. Remember, even the father or close male family member, or friend of this child can and should be considered a suspect...many times they are the prime suspect in these type of cases as soon as they occur. Just the family and their stubborn insistence of pursuing this foreign guy and his girlfriend, despite the video would arouse most of those investigating this case as a red flag, unless the culture of payback and lack of common sense has overtaken the intelligence of the family. If that was my daughter, and I seen that video...I would be all over the investigating officers to find the REAL killer.Something odd with this case. :AddEmoticons04230: Edited by Inspector
