Mike S Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 (edited) Classic Dry ..... not sure if you are going to move here or just visit but if you need something that you can't find I found if you make a copy of the item (use Google to find a picture of it) then take it with you it saves a heap of loss time ..... even common names for stuff where we come from is not used here ..... asked for plumbers putty once at various hardware stores and god what strange looks I got ...... anyway point in question today I went looking for a concave spoke-shaver ..... i had a picture but the person I showed it to forgot to show it the girl he sent looking for it ..... she came back with 2 electric shavers ..... :hystery: :hystery: :hystery: ..... better to have a picture ..... if they will share it ..... :hystery: ...... guess I will have to send to the US for one as no way can I make one of those .... :tiphat: Edited May 17, 2012 by Mike S 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Don't think I've ever had an idea for an item, made a drawing, and started from scratch. I might have, but there always seemed to be something I needed to fix first. I hope to remedy that when I retire. I have made tools, but usually a single use thing, made when the correct tool has been unavailable, too costly or non-existant. As for living there, I've only spent 2 weeks there, and, while I truly enjoyed it, I need to visit for a much longer period to get a better feel for the place. This may sound like a dumb question, but how come you were looking for a spoke shave, in a place which sold electric shavers ?? The idea, though, of taking a picture, sounds like a good one.
