Colonoscopy

Hi there.

I am going to require this as I have been having diarea for 3 weeks, did a full exeuctive check up and nothing is wrong with my blood and other tests but it just won't go away.

The big issue I am having is I am currently between contracts and I have no coverage so its out of pocket and I am being quoted from 12K all the way up to 30k as there "could be extra charges" depending on what happens.

Can someone here help me find a doctor or someone who would do it safely and reasonable and not give me the foreigner discount....

Thanks :)

I am in the Manila area..

I'm no doctor, but aren't there MANY MORE likely reasons for diarea than what's shown by colonoscopy?

(=some bacteria. Which normaly can be treated by antibiotic.  Have you tried garlic cure?   Such can make the stomach a bit MORE soft 1-2 days though as a part of the cleaning process, when it kill bacterias.

I don't know if it's to late to cure/reduce the problem by eating coal tablets. Have you tried "replacing" your bad bacterias with good ones?  I don't know how easy/hard it's to find in Phils but e g there are "extra strong" similar to youghurt, just drink it. Such solve some types of stomach problems.)

I found a good doctor in Cebu that prescribed something for that.  It was 3 things, pills to kill whatever bugs were in my stomach.  Rehrdration salts for obvious reasons.  A strain of live bacteria that comes in a vial and needs refrigeration and contains the 'good' bacteria.  Ask any doctor about that.

Cleared me up 100%

Ok will do thanks.... They are saying they need to find out what is the cause before going on to bacteria treatment.

Also the one doctor (i have seen 3) said that it would be "gone" in a few days if it was bactera but I am not so sure and would like to pursue it.

Do you know the names of the medications ?

Thanks

Many doctors will ask for all kinds of tests as a way of padding the bill but the doctor I went to did not ask for any.  I have noticed that going to 3 different doctors for 3 different opinions well get you exactly that, 3 DIFFERENT opinions so thats why I told you what worked for me.

I could not read the doc's writing and just took the prescription to the pharmacist.  You may be able to read it so I pictured it here.

EDIT:  I hope that is the right prescription LOL.  Because I don't understand a word of it that may be the wrong one, but the meds come in 1: a tinfoil packet called re-hydration salts (or similar)  2:  some pills  and 3:  some sealed plastic vials with liquid that needs to be refrigerated.

I agree with most of the comments in regards to this, there is a whole host of problems that can lead to diarrhea. I see patients daily for this, if your current doctor can't find a cuase, I suggest you see a specialist.

More times than not, diarrhea is usually cuased by poor diet or gastro related.

I would not recommend gatorade, there is too much sugar in it. However, if you go to the local pharmacy, you will find plenty of rehydration formulas, such as gastrolyte and other simiilar products.
