Thomas Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I should have been listening to expats that are in my age range (40's), living here full-time, and sharing a similar attitude and outlook as me. So the younger expats have different visa needs than older ones? Younger ones know all about sending boxes and laws/rules etc? Can you give an example of advice on this forum or anywhere that is not applicable to any age? Need of Viagra :) (But I AGREE with your main point.)

Of course the nuts and bolts of living here apply to all foreigners, but I was referring more to quality of life and how much the foreigner REALLY enjoys living here. I left my response vague so as not to offend anyone, but if I was a generation older and coming out of a 20 year bad marriage, I would enjoy the Philippines 10X more than I do. ;)
Dave Hounddriver Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 if I was a generation older and coming out of a 20 year bad marriage, I would enjoy the Philippines 10X more than I do. ;) I think I see your point :-) Not about the 20 year bad marriage but I am thinking about my life 20 years ago. Up to about age 40 I could get f . . anywhere, any time. But the west can be generationally prejudiced and that does not seem to exist here. That is probably why I enjoy life here 10x as much as I would have 20 years ago.
